Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County
Before the technology companies arrived, Sunnyvale was orchard country. Apricots, cherries and prunes covered the Santa Clara Valley, then called the Valley of Heart's Delight, and the Libby cannery in Sunnyvale was among the largest in the world. The city keeps a working apricot orchard at its community center, and the cannery water tower still stands, painted like a giant fruit can.
